For stem - mounted casters, insert the stem of the caster into the corresponding hole in the equipment. Use a locking mechanism (such as a set screw) to secure the caster in place.
Load capacity: Do not exceed the rated load capacity of the caster. Overloading can cause the caster to malfunction, such as wheel deformation, axle breakage, or reduced braking effectiveness.
Movement: When moving the equipment with casters, push or pull it gently. Avoid sudden starts, stops, or sharp turns, especially when the equipment is heavily loaded. This can prevent the caster from tipping over or being damaged.
Terrain awareness: Be aware of the terrain. On uneven surfaces, slow down to prevent the caster from jolting or getting stuck. If using the caster outdoors, avoid obstacles like rocks, potholes, and curbs as much as possible.
Braking: If the caster is equipped with a brake, use it when the equipment needs to be stationary. Engage the brake firmly to ensure the caster does not roll accidentally. When releasing the brake, make sure it is fully disengaged before moving the equipment.
Regular inspection: Periodically check the caster for any signs of wear, such as flat spots on the wheels, loose bolts, or damaged axles. If any issues are found, repair or replace the parts immediately.
Cleaning: Keep the caster clean. Remove dirt, debris, and any foreign objects that may accumulate on the wheels, axles, or brackets. This can be done with a brush or a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals that may damage the caster's components.
Lubrication: Apply a suitable lubricant to the moving parts of the caster, such as the axles and swivel joints, at regular intervals. This helps to reduce friction, ensure smooth operation, and extend the lifespan of the caster.
